We all know that things are quickly changing when it comes to the weed industry. New devices hit the market each year along with dozens upon dozens of new strains and products. And bongs are no different. Over the years, this faithful way of smoking herb has gotten an aesthetic update.
Esther is one of the people leading this change of elevating the design of the bong as we know it. She co-founded Session Goods with friends with the aim to create a smokable glass device that is easy to clean and most importantly easy on the eyes.
Esther says she wanted to create glass pieces that you could hide in plain sight. With a background in apparel design, in 2014 she took a chance by entering the cannabis industry.
After years of selling unbranded products, Esther partnered up with a few friends to launch a line of smoking accessories in 2018 that would fit into the modern home. This project came to be known as Session Goods.
Their flagship item, the Session Bong has won 3 awards for packaging and excellence in product design. Session has been featured in Forbes, Rolling Stone, Buzzfeed, Thrillist, and more.
Esther talks about the challenges of being in the cannabis business, including an incident in 2020 when the federal government seized her inventory leaving the business unable to generate income for two months. Despite the setbacks she’s experienced, she is still very passionate about cannabis. You don’t want to miss this episode.
